Nexon and Hivestack: how programmatic digital out of home (DOOH) powered gaming growth

Leading global online gaming company, Nexon, leveraged the Hivestack Demand Side Platform (DSP) to activate a cross-border programmatic (DOOH) campaign promoting its popular “MapleStory M” mobile game to audiences in Singapore

Core Objective:

On the 4th anniversary of its popular “MapleStory M” mobile game, Nexon wanted to promote the game with a goal to increase its brand awareness among its target audience of gaming enthusiasts in Singapore.

Solutions:

Nexon activated a programmatic DOOH promotional campaign from Korea, reaching its target audience in a completely different market: Singapore.

With the Hivestack Demand Side Platform (DSP) and its advanced suite of data and audience targeting solutions, Nexon was able to target its audiences on multiple DOOH screen environments including shopping malls, subway transit stations and on roadside.

Utilizing its own first party data in addition to Hivestack’s predefined audience segments of ‘video and computer gamers’, Nexon was able to reach its key target audience and promote the “MapleStory M” game within a select radius or proximity geofence.

Results:

Utilizing the Hivestack DSP, Nexon reached their desired audiences at scale, delivering:

  • Over 12 million impressions on screens in and around key areas of interest
